Harvest Fund Management, one of China’s largest fund managers that oversees investments worth $100bn, has hired Peregrine Communications to a new global account.
London-based Peregrine has been appointed as Harvest opens up its services to international investors.
The wide-ranging remit includes strategy, design, messaging, media relations, thought leadership, digital media and events. The agency was hired after a competitive pitch.
Harvest Fund Management has 10 offices in China serving more than 30 million clients. It opened in New York in 2012, and in London two years later, a move that was welcomed by then-Chancellor George Osborne.
Ashley Dale, chief business development officer and chief marketing officer at Harvest Fund Management, said: “We have a strong story to tell with an excellent track record and a sophisticated, effective approach. Peregrine will help us tell that story.”
Peregrine CEO Anthony Payne said: “Working with Harvest is an extraordinary opportunity to help tell a compelling story and help position Harvest as top of mind with investors as they review their allocations to China. China is the world’s second biggest economy and is a centre of innovation. The next mega company is as likely to emerge from Shenzhen as Cupertino.”
